David R. Demaree has been practicing law for nearly 30 years during which his focus has been trust and estates law and related tax matters.

In addition to advising clients with respect to basic estate planning issues, David has developed and implemented sophisticated family-wealth transfer plans, including charitable planning and other non-profit organizations, as well as succession plans for family and closely held business owners.

To provide optimal service, David works closely with clients and their accountants and advisors in developing estate plans to meet client goals and needs.

David also routinely advises executors and other fiduciaries in all aspects of estate and trust administration matters, including estate, gift, generation-skipping transfers (GST), and inheritance tax issues, and has successfully represented clients in guardianship matters (both contested and uncontested), conservatorship proceedings, as well as in connection with fiduciary accountings, undue influence claims, and other will contests and probate matters.

David has been a Rule 1:40 Court-Qualified Mediator for Probate Matters since 2009.

David has written and spoken on a number of legal issues, including tax issues related to closely held businesses and their owners, and international business issues and laws, and compensation planning for international executives.

David received his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 1995 and an LL.M. in Taxation in 1997.

Prior to law school, David completed a Masters of Science in Political Science (Diplom – Politologe) from the University of Hamburg, Germany and a Bachelor of Arts in English and German at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
