Sharon A. Dragan is a Director with Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C. She joined the firm as Counsel in 2016 after thirty years of practice, including twenty years with Ballard and Dragan, in Flemington, N.J. She focuses her practice in the areas of local government law, zoning, land use law, real estate and estate planning. She has represented several municipalities and land use boards in New Jersey. Her municipal practice includes in depth experience with the NJ Open Public Meetings Act, zoning and planning issues, ordinance preparation, affordable housing planning and administration, enforcement issues, election law, sewer capacity issues, developer agreements, counsel to engineers and zoning officers, Clerk and Administrator assistance, Green Acres, open space, and farmland preservation projects, public contracts law, preparation of bid specifications, oversight of equipment purchase contracts, DPW projects, and coordination with Planning Boards and Boards of Adjustment.

Sharon also has extensive experience in real estate transactions and estate planning and regularly represents private clients in these practice areas.

In her continued service to the legal profession, Sharon served on the District XIII Ethics Committee for several years. The Office of Attorney Ethics (OAE) acts as the investigative and prosecutorial arm of the Supreme Court of New Jersey in discharging the Court’s constitutional responsibility to supervise and discipline New Jersey attorneys. She is a member of the Hunterdon County, Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Bar Associations. Sharon is currently Second Vice President of the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys, a professional organization with the purpose of promoting education and professionalism among local government attorneys, and to assist members of the legal profession to better serve local governments in New Jersey. She has previously served as that organization’s Treasurer and Secretary, as well as Trustee for Hunterdon and Mercer Counties. She has been a regular speaker on panels sponsored by the Institute at the annual League of Municipalities Conference, including panels on Open Space and Farmland Preservation (2017-2024) as well as Local Government Ethics (2025).
